Connect as a consumer

Here you will find a description of how to connect as a consumer to the National Geodata Platform (NGP). The process is divided into two different parts. The first describes how to connect to NGP and the second describes how to make data sets technically available. In the process, several different skills may be needed.

Consumer

An actor who via machine-to-machine interface (APIs for viewing, searching and downloading) joins NGP. The consumer approves Terms of Use (in swedish, pdf, new window).

To access the data in NGP, connect with the API. You can access the APIs via the API portal. There is a guide that shows how to create keys for the APIs, the guide shows the producer APIs but it is just as applicable to you as a consumer.

Read the wizard for creating keys for the APIs in the API portal (pdf, new window).

Questions and answers about connecting as a consumer

When you log in to the API portal, you can start by searching for Geodata Catalog (National Geodata Platform). You will then see the three APIs that are available.

To consume data sets via the APIs, you need some type of software. One of many software is the open source software QGIS which is free to use and works for the purpose.
