SWEPOS

SWEPOS is a national network of permanent reference stations. Data from the network supports navigation and accurate positioning for a variety of GNSS applications. Such applications are for example real-time positioning for production purposes – including machine guidance for construction work – and scientific studies – for example of very small and slow movements in the Earth's crust or for climate research. This e-service is only available in Swedish.

Network RTK

Description of the service

Network RTK is a real-time service for users using GNSS/RTK equipment. Network RTK provides the possibility of position determination in the reference system SWEREF 99 with measurement uncertainty at the centimetre level. The service also includes Network DGNSS, with the possibility of position determination with measurement uncertainty at meter level.

The service currently provides correction data for the satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou.

Network RTK requires a connection, usually via mobile Internet.

Expected positional uncertainty

The positional uncertainty you can expect when using Network RTK primarily depends on the uncertainty in the path of the GNSS signal, the uncertainty in the correction data from the service, and the uncertainty in your own measurement procedure.

When measuring with Network RTK, and you have good measurement conditions the possibility, it is possible to obtain a measurement uncertainty, in the reference system SWEREF 99, according to the table below.

The measurements are estimated on the basis of test measurements of the network RTK service and specified with coverage factor 2, which means that they are expected to cover at least 95% of all measurement values.

The values only include measurement uncertainty in the GNSS measurement; thus, the geoid model's uncertainty for height measurement must be added to obtain the uncertainty of the RH 2000 height determination.

The estimation of measurement uncertainty also presupposes that the various sources of error that affect the GNSS signal's path from satellite to receiver are at a "normal" level. With the help of our support services, such as the ionosphere monitor, you can assess whether the sources of uncertainty contribute more than "normal".

Subscriptions

There are different types of Network RTK subscriptions depending on your needs.

What is included with a subscription?

Each subscription provides a connection to the service, for use throughout the country.
An IoT card is included free of charge in the network RTK subscription *. The subscription of Network RTK also includes Network DGNSS.

If you have a subscription of Network RTK, you can extend it to apply also in Finland and Norway. This must be ordered separately.

Network RTK

This subscription can be used around the clock without restriction, it is the most common subscription and is suitable for all measurement activities.

30- and 90-day subscriptions

These subscriptions give you access to the service from the desired start date and 30 or 90 days ahead. The subscription ends automatically when the period expires. If you want to extend the period, you must order a new subscription.

IoT cards are note included in the time-limited subscritptions.

1000-minute subscription

1000 minutes of Network RTK is a time limited subscription suitable for irregular usage or connections during shorter periods. 1000 minutes corresponds to 16 hours and 40 minutes of active connection to the service.

The subscription is active for at most 12 months from the chosen start date.

Order a new subscription period before the subscription's expiration date to extend your subscription one year. 1000 new minutes will be added to the new period. Possible unused minutes will be transferred to the new period.

When your subscription period is over, the subscription is terminated and remaining unused minutes will be removed.

For machine guidance applications in the agriculture sector, SWEPOS cooperates with a number of companies.

The collaboration aims to provide the best possible support and assistance to the users in the agricultural sector who use Network RTK together with various product-specific machine control equipment.

Trial subscription

For new customers there is the opportunity to try Network RTK for 10 days free of charge.
After 10 days the subscription expires, and you must then sign up for a regular subscription to continue using the service.

IoT card

Network RTK requires Internet connection to connect to SWEPOS.
SWEPOS offers a free IoT card (Internet of Things; a SIM card for data communication) for Network RTK * (applies to the subscription forms Network RTK and Prepaid). It is also possible to use your own mobile subscription.

The IoT card can "roam", i.e. automatically switch to another available operator in the event of a weak signal or if coverage is lacking from the original operator. The IoT card is only available together with a subscription of Network RTK. In the event of unauthorized use, we reserve the right to deactivate the subscription with immediate effect.

Reportedly, the IoT cards do not work with some older types of modems that only support 2G. If you are unsure of the type of modem in your equipment, you can contact your instrument supplier.

Additions for the Nordics

A subscription at SWEPOS can be expanded with the possibility of measuring in Finland and/or Norway. The same username that applies in Sweden can be used in the other Nordic countries.

The prices below apply to extending a SWEPOS subscription to another Nordic country.

About SWEPOS IoT card

For your equipment to be able to connect to the Internet via mobile networks, you need to enter the so-called access point name, APN, for your IoT card.

Contact your instrument vendor if you need help changing the APN setting when using this type of SIM card.

IoT cards that are not used for a 6-month period are automatically de-activated. Contact the SWEPOS Control Centre to re-activate the SIM card. Cards that are not used for an 18-month period will be terminated and can then not be used again.

Telia does not support this type of SIM card. Contact SWEPOS Control Centre for troubleshooting or if you have any questions.
