The International department coordinates Lantmäteriet's contribution to Swedish international development assistance. The assistance should create preconditions for better living conditions, for people living in poverty and under oppression.
Our projects
Lantmäteriet is responsible for projects focusing on mapping, cadastral and land registration and work together with authorities in the beneficiary countries. Our projects are all financed by Sida, the Swedish Developing Cooperation Agency.
Countries in which we operate
Our projects are conducted as a government collaboration in the countries with authorities having similar responsibilities as Lantmäteriet. The Swedish government have decided on strategies for Swedish development cooperation for countries, regions and thematic areas.
Our projects are supporting the implementation of these strategies and are in line with the new reform agenda – “Development Assistance for a New Era - Freedom, empowerment and sustainable growth”.
Lantmäteriet are currently (2024) active with bilateral projects in the following countries:
- Albania (cooperation with Swedish Tax Agency)
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Liberia
- Rwanda
- Serbia.
In addition, we have two Sida financed Advanced International training programs (ITP), one with participants from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. The second with participants from Liberia and Zimbabwe.
